Baldwin

Founded in 1896, Baldwin was named for Joseph A. Baldwin, a railroad official. The town was earlier known as Stonepile for a small Indian mound that marked the town center. Baldwin is home to Smithville Village, which includes a restored 1897 mercantile store, antique shops, and restaurants. It also has infrastructure serving the Habersham County Airport and Industrial Park. Baldwin is also home to Fieldale Farms, Inc. the county’s largest employer.
